A sinner, saved by the Grace of God..
As christmas and the end of the year 2009 is approaching, i was reflecting back on my life for the past 1 year. Self-checking and refining my role as a child of God and remembering His goodness and grace. Everytime i listen to the song, Amazing Grace (Not the Chris Tomlin's version), i cannot help but to feel really really grateful that i, a sinner, so unworthy, yet am given the opportunity to hear the good news and be given eternal life. All because of what Christ the Lord has done for us 2000 years ago. i am indeed a sinner saved by the grace of God. Christmas has always been a very special occasion to me. not just cuz of the presents and gifts that i will receive or make for my friends? but cuz of what the Lord has done; the nail pierced hands and the blood shed for us. all said and done. The Lord my God is the one and only God i will love and follow. A Saviour, a father, a brother, a provider, a healer to me..

Chiltern House @ East Coast Big Splash 2010
Finally! Finally! Finally! I'm going to run my own class next year!!! :) but, it will not be in Julia Gabriel. Instead, i've asked to transfer to our associate company of JGC, Chiltern House. i'll be promoted to become a teacher-in-training. :) here's a glimsp of my work schedule for next year:
4th - 8th Jan:
Morning session: N1 (2-3 yr olds) with Shahida
Afternoon session: N1 (2-3 yr olds) Chui Ting and Wang Yan (Bilingual class)
11th Jan:
Morning session: K2 (6 yr olds) assisting Ashley

Great Eastern Run 2009
today is the day. although it's only 5Km, but i didnt really train for it. But thankfully, God sustained me, and i was able to finish the whole 5K in exactly 30 mins. not just me. San ran 5K in 35 mins and yee ran 10K in less than 1hr 10 mins. all of us challenged ourselves and managed to run faster than the previous race.
this is yee's 4th or 5th 10K run, and by far, today's her best result. she started running at 7am. and finished slighly after 8am. san and i started at 8am and i managed to finish with 30 mins. one of the reason is also cuz i want to quickly finish the race so tt i can get to church in time to have breakfast with my friends at 10am at Bukit Timah market, and then attend the 1130 service. :)
i'm glad i persevered on and still went to church. today's sermon by Rev Yap was about partnership in trembling and fearing the Lord. How appropriate. Thinking back and reflecting upon my life ever since i came to know christ, it has been a good 8 yrs. however, i came to realise (thankfully not too late) tt i havent really been treating my r/s with God very seriously. Time to do more in depth reflection tonight as i do my quiet time.
thank God for being able to discipline myself to wake up earlier, at abt 5am if not latest 5.30am to do my QT before gg to work. Doing QT in the morning's really a much better idea than to do it in the evening after a long day of work, or and night class. i'll always end up rushing thru the bible passage (currently doing the book of psalm) say a quick prayer and go to bed (fatique kicks in the moment i close my eyes :x) not good. not good.
anyway, i managed to persevere on and do it for 4 cons. days. :) will maintain it again this coming week and the rest of the weeks. :)
anyway, one thing tt impacted me from today's sermon: We are NOT GOD. Stop complaining, whining and blaming God for what we do not have. Gonna read the book of Job and Numbers to reinforce in today's sermon. :)

counting down....
darling's coming back in 52 more days!!! Today's last day of OCTOBER!!! HURRAY!!! Tomorrow's NOVEMBER!!! Darling's coming back in DEC!!! And... We're celebrating our 1st yr's anniversary in about 2 months' time in January!!!!!! yeah!!! Praise the Lord for such a wonderful darling which He'd given to me! And thank you Lord for a wonderful first yr tt He'd given to both darling and I. Praise the Lord! Amen! :)

First Choir Prac @ Glory Presbyterian Church :)
Before choir prac started, Pr. Loli tested my voice and i am in the Soprano tog with Benita, Christina, Daphne etc etc.. super exciting!
we sang 3 songs today! On Eagle's Wings, Joy and In the name of the Lord. :)
Practice was awesome! thank God i sat between Chris and Benita. Cuz they are both very good singers and i can get in tuned easily with them. :)and i could ask them where and how to read the notes. Thank God i could recap a little of what i'd learnt when i was in the school's concert band, back when i was in sec sch. nonetheless, there are SO MUCH to learn! and i'm so excited! came home, went to goole the 3 songs and sang along with it. But, i do not think i should sing so much after the prac. my voice is getting quite hoarse already. :p but! i will remember to drink lots and lots of water. :) oh ya! Ying Qi (Vivian's friend) is also joining the choir! she sat in to obsrve today, and Pr. Loli gave YQ a set of the scores to bring home. she'll be joining the choir officially from next week onwards! :) In fact, Ying Qi and i are like best buddies in church now lor! :p
this is so exciting! new ministries in church (Youth Fellowship's Logistics Team and 1130 svc Choir), new friends, new committments (church), new classes! i'll be attending BSF's intro class tmr!!!! :D i'm so excited! i'm sure i'll learn ALOT! :)
sometimes, i'm so glad tt wenyao was not with me in church and is in the states. not cuz i do not need him? but cuz, when he was with me in church e whole of the month before he flew, i was so sticky to him and was so not willing to get out of my comfort zone and mix ard with other church friends. But ever since he left, yee was not with me. But! God was with me! :D He helped me settle down so quickly and nicely in the comfort of trustworthy friends and leaders. now, i no longer need to keep asking pple to see who wld like to have breakfast with me, though by default, we know tt we're all mtg at the Bukit Timah Market beside church for breakfast at 10 before the 1130 svc. anyway just last night, and this morning, Ying Qi and Big Dom respectively texted me to ask me if i'm gg for breakfast at the market before gg for the 1130 svc. :)
so nice of them isnt it? :) God is good and faithful. isnt He? :)To be able to serve Him is a joy! I can foresee that this Christmas will definitely be very different, as compared to last yr (darling and i sort of celebrated it tog) and the years before with LSBC friends. I love last Christmas. but, this Christmas, i will be able to serve the Lord in a totally new way and new place! that is, to sing praises to Him in a new church in a Choir! :) Isnt that wonderful? :) and the best part is of cuz, my darling is back from the states after a 4-5 month wait since the day he flew :)
