week 2 of the sch term.. was quite an "adventure" for me. not many pple knew about this incident. rather, alomst the whole of chiltern house teachers know, and my whole eduplay dept knew abt it. and my own friends, only my parents, sisters, wenyao, and Jon chon knew about it. anyway, as i was saying, after a whole day's work, i was pretty tired and shacked. so as usual, i was walking thru the underpass, at 2 plus, coming 3pm in the afternoon, to make my way down to PS to meet yee and wenyao for dinner and movie. wenyao wanted to celebrate our bday. so since for the past few days, i was so busy, we had to wait till monday, 12th Jan'09. so what happened was, as i was making my way to the bus stop at amber hotel, as i was walking thru the underpass as i'd always did, just as i make a turn to the last flight of stairs to my left, i saw a young chap, prolly in his early or mid 20-s standing by the flight of stairs and leaning against the wall. the first thought that came to my mind, who and why is he standing there? who's he waiting for? why wait for pple at such weird place? questions just bombard my mind in lightning speed. and before i knew it, i saw smth that was hanging out of his pants. *slaps forehead* (I AM SO NOT WILLING TO WRITE ABOUT THIS BUT HAD NO CHOICE. WANNA WARN THE GIRLS OUT THERE TO BE CAREFUL WHEN WALKING ALONE IN SUCH PLACES, EVEN IN SINGAPORE) it was his.. *ahem* u know.. dick. YUCK! i was SHOCKED! then i quickly walked a distant away from him and shouted in his face, "****!" and quickly make haste and walk off. MY GOD! i was so afraid tt he would come after me. thou i always say i can protect myself since i'd learned martial arts before, but at that point of time, i cant even think properly! i was like shivering! and was in a state of shock! in broad daylight! this happened! to me!!!! *DISGUSTED*. thou i know for sure that this fellow is DEFINITELY MENTALLY UNSOUND, but! oh god. i really dun want to think about it. as soon as i got out of that place, and when my phone's reception came back, i dialled the first number that was on my last dialled list. and so i called Jon chon. i was at the verge of crying aldr. but after listnening to me, he told me he would get back to me after he'd cleared his stuff. (he was working at the point of time). but thank god. not long after, he called back. and he comforted me and chatted with me all the way till i went to meet yee and wenyao at PS and the Cathay respectively. i was so grateful for them. thou yee tried to make a joke out of it, and tt point of time, wenyao also didnt say much, cuz after that, that very night, wenyao called to ask if i'm alright after that incident. cuz he said, at the point of time when i told him when we met him at the cinema, it didnt sink in that it was tt serious a thing that happened to me. so ya. it was very sweet of wenyao to call later that night. and then we chatted till about 11 plus, then i went to bed. i tell u.. the next morning, when i had to go thru that underpass again, i was VERY SCARED. i slowed down alot before walking down the stairs to make sure that there was no one there, and RAN ACROSS the underpass and slowed down again to make sure there was no one standing there at that flight of stairs before making my way up towards my centre. after the whole thing, i was like, phew! and thank god for protecting me throughout. I prayed very hard before entering the underpass and getting out of it. so these few days, both Jon and Nat, rather, wenyao, called me in the morning to chat with me as i make my way to work. and it really helps. and both Rino and Claire would ask me to either wait for them to finish class and we make our way out to the bus stop tog, so that i will not be alone. I am so thankful and grateful for such wonderful colleages and friends. till now, thou i am still quite afraid and will tend to hold on very tightly whatever that is in my hands while before, throughout and after i'd passed the underpass. but i REALLY thank God for protecting me throughout the whole incident. and the very next day after that incident happened, mum called me on my hp to check and see if i was safe and sound in school aldy. the first question she asked me was, "need to report to the police?" then i told her. i might. i shall see when i have the time, and who to go with me to make the report. didnt want to drag too long thou. and she suggested i tell my aunty, dad's sis, who's a part time police officer abt it. then i said NO! if she knows, it'll mean tt the whole family will know. NO WAY! will i want the family to know. especially i know that some of my not very nice relatives will say nasty things to us. anyway, now that everything's back to normal, i'm just glad that from now on, i will NEVER take for granted the safety i'd experienced the past 22 years of my life here, living in singapore.
anyway, yesterday, in the morning, when Claire came into class, this was wad she told me, "Chuiting, today, you're going to do the magic box. ok?" i was like.. what?! i tried to negotiate with her and that whether can i do funpasses instead.. but she said no. well, it's for my own good lah.. so i did lor. first class was erm.. a disaster to me. cuz after so long, the last time i did magic box, or even ran certain segments of the class when i was understudying Zita, it'd been so long since. so after the feedback from Claire, who was very encouraging, i did magic box segment during the 2nd class as well. this time, to me, it was a success! i could recall how i did it in Zita's class last time. and i was able to get the children's attention. clap! clap! clap! heh.. so Claire also announced to both the classes tt i will be training in class, and so for the whole term, i will be running certain parts of the class with her. so ya. i didnt dare think much, thou i know promotion's nearing. but, i dun want to pin too high hopes either. so this is week 2 of my sch term for u. :)
oh yes! and yesterday, wenyao came over to my place to jam with san and I. we all met up after work at hougang interchange (except wenyao. he applied leave) to have dinner, before making our way down to our house. so we sure had lots of fun jamming tog. 2 guitarists (wenyao and myself) and 2 keyboardists (san and wenyao.. lol). and yup. we played a few songs. and then, wenyao left at 10 plus. however, when i walked him down, we chatted for about an hour at an open space area near my place before he made his way back home. yup yup. and i tell u, wenyao's super good in both keyboard and guitar can?! yes, he's the friend of mine who own 3 taylor guitars. :) just FYI. :) ciao!

exciting happenings..
well.. frankly speaking.. many things have happened throughout these 2 weeks, starting from last week, when yee, san and myself celebrated our 22nd birthday.. my goodness! we're 22 aldy??? i can still remember our 21st birthday party which we held it at our home can?! nvm.. that's besides the point. 2 days before our birthday was Jon Chon's 22nd. finally. i've found a friend of the same age as us who's birthday's even earlier than ours. anyway.. on the 8th Jan, yee and I celebrated Jon's bday tog. yee ended sch earlier than i knock off at work, so she went to meet Jon first. thereafter, i went to meet up with them at Bugis. Initially, i wanted to reach there earlier so tt we can buy him a gift. but who knows, there werent enuff time. so yea.. nvm.. will give him his bday gift next yr.. lol.. kidding.. anyway, it wasnt really a celebration actually. more of like us hanging out with him at bugis junction area.. walking ard, dinner, shopping (i bought a pair of shoes for CNY).. thereafter, we made our way down to esplanade (walked all the way from bugis to esplanade. singapore's really not very big leh.. as we all walk and talk at the same time, before we knew it, we were at esplanade aldr). we didnt do much there either. we just find a spot to sit down, chatted, took some pics, and watch yee play her game on her DS and Jon and i watched one S.H.E's MTV on his PSP. and i've been looking for tt song for a super long time! speaking of which.. Jon still owe me smth.. he promised to burn me a copy of the songs he have in his PSP into a CD. right. shall remind him again later when i'm done with this blog entry and the resources which i'd brought home to do.
thereafter, we all made our way home. cuz Jon said tt his family's waiting for him to go home before 12 to cut the cake with him.. heh.. right. here comes the exciting part. the next day, 9th Jan (fri), a day before our birthday (10th Jan, sat) Logan, Jon Chon, yee, yee's SIM classmate Jeremiah and myself embarked on a journey thru an unguided high element obstacle course at Bedok Reservoir, Forest Adventure. well.. we were supposed to be there by 1215pm rite? but we ended up late. cuz Jon drove, and we got lost somewhere in between.. but also! somewhere in between, dunnoe which route did Jon take, and we ended up at Bedok Reservoir just as we thought we were still lost. complicating rite? nvm. haha.. anyway.. we had a 2o-30 mins pre-adventure briefing by the staff (forgot his name thou) about how to use the carrabina (is this how u spell it?) and the pulley thruout the obstacle course. we didnt take any pictures at all cuz we didnt want to risk having our cameras dropped from high heights. at the beginning, i didnt really want to even try the first obstacle element. cuz i had to do the flying fox thingie and "fly" over to catch the net opposite the first platform. my god. i was contamplating for a while before i decided to take a leap of faith and trust that it's gonna be fun. there were 4 sites of high element course to go through altogether. it was pretty strenuous at certain segments, for me at least. cuz the minimum height limit was 1.4m. and i am only standing at 1.48m. so u see my difficulty as i try to tip toe as much as possible at certain point to get my pulley which was attached to my harness which was smth i have to wear throughout the course. so Jon on 2 occasions, had to carry me uo a little so tt i can attach the pulley to the wire before i fly across to the next site thru flying fox. i tell u, now, i love flying fox! it's super fun can?! lol.. anyway.. to cut the long story short, (i'm just too lazy to write out everything.. :P) after that forest adventure thingie, i drove! i drove! haha.. yea.. i drove all of us using logan's dad's company car to Tampines mall to have lunch. thereafter, i drove Jeremiah to the station and then drove my sis and myself home to bathe and change before mtg Jon and Logan again for dinner later in the evening. and san knocked off at about that time. so e 3 of us with Logan and Jon (i drove again) drove to east coast park (as if i havent get eunff of ECP after working there for so long) to cycle. i didnt want to cycle alone. so i jon and i took the double bike, lol.. and i can kind of relax. cuz he does the controlling in front. but! Jon has to do this. i told him that cuz i cant control the bike from the back, i can cycle without hands. but! he cannot! cuz if we lose control, we'll both fall and i cannot afford to injure myself during sch term as i have to work. just as i said tt, JON! being so super mischievous, stretched out both his hands and tried to balance. when i felt tt the bike was going to fall, i gave a loud scream. super loud. then Jon quickly regain his balance and asked if i was alright. i was like, "JON! NO!" lol.. thinking back.. it was super funny. cuz i think when i screamed, pple at the surrounding turned to look.. LOL.. thank goodness we didnt fall OK?! then i warned him NOT to do tt again. and before i knew it, Logan (who was blading) came and ask what happened. so i IMMEDIATELY WARNED JON NOT TO DEMOSTRATE OUT WHAT HAPPENED. and guess what, JON DID. and i gave another loud (but a little shorter and softer) scream, AGAIN. then i was like (pretty pissed with him lah) "Jon! Jon! Jon!" arghh.. after that, he apologised and ya.. i forgave him lah! cuz we werent hurt anyway. just tt i was really very scared tt time point of time. and there's nth i can do. actually, there is. i cant always exchanged bike with san. she goes on the double bike and i go on the single bike. anyway.. after an hour or cycling (blading for both Logan and Yee), we were all super hungry. and i suggested we go lau pa sa to eat.
here's another funny story. again, i drove. lol.. i'm taking all opportunities to drive so as to improve on my driving skill.. hee.. anyway.. we were at lao pa sa when we ordered stingray (a little spicy), satay (with the gravy a little spicy), popiah (a little spicy), what else? rite. pls pardon me for my GOLDFISH size memory. there were like 1-2 more dishes which i cant recall. and they were all a little spicy as well. HOWEVER, Jon, yee, san and myself thought it wasnt spicy enuff. but sitting beside me was logan. He was PERSPIRING PROFUSELY!!!! as if there was a super blazing sun right at the top of his head. LOL.. if u were to put a backdrop with the blazing sun on top of his head.. my god.. he sure can pull it off at that scene.. lol.. kk.. i dun want to be mean lah ar.. but this is Logan for u. as soon as he eats smth spicy, even if it's only a teenie weenie bit, he SURE CAN perspire A WHOLE LOT. as it is super funny seeing a table of 5 pple, of which, 4 were super dry, and 1 was perspiring like dunnoe wad, Jon later told me tt 2 staff (from one of the stalls at lao pa sa) were laughing at logan at the way he perspire. thou we were not being very kind either when we kept laughing at the sight of him.. lol.. anyway.. after dinner, yee and san went to buy food for mummy while logan, jon and i went to get the car. so again, i drove san home so that she can give mum the food. thereafter, san stayed at home cuz she doesnt want to play with logan's dogs, Braun and Ashley. after we'd sent san home, logan, yee, jon and i drove to punggol park. there, we drank a little (logan bought green apple vodka) and played 5/10. i didnt drink much as i have to work the next day. but at the stroke of 12am (10th Jan), wenyao (Nat) called me to wish me happy birthday. which was pretty uncalled for. yup. that was really very sweet of him. haha.. anyway.. as i was saying, since i cant drink much, so sometimes, jon/yee drank on my behalf. also, cuz i was their driver for the day. haha.. thereafter, we drove to yishun, where logan put up at, and took his dogs to yishun park for a walk. after chatting a while and sitting ard, we were all super tired. so yee drove us home. yea. she took over the wheel this time round. (if i didnt remember wrongly). yup yup. this was how i spent the few days before my actual birthday.
so the next day, on my birthday, i had to work. which i dun mind either. cuz i miss my bilingual playclub children anyway. and to be able to spend my birthday with them, i totally DO NOT MIND at all! :) so what happen was, that week, we were also learning about the letter H. and since it was my birthday, Dee, the lead teacher, got the class to sing me a "Happy birthday" song. and yea. that day itself, i have 3 classes of children and adults singing me that song, and plus later on after work, i went to celebrate my birthday with my BELOVED cell group, FOGGIES (FOG- Fishermen Of God) at Marina square's Waraku. :) the cell was late. cuz they all went to buy us prezzies. which in the first place, we only informed them the day before was cuz we didnt want them to buy us prezzies. anyway, it was really sweet of them. :) so we all had a good time of chatting and laughing and taking pictures. (i was like cam whoring again.. lol.. ) so.. that's how i spent my birthday on the actual day. then! comes next day, sunday. we went to church as usual. sunday morning service.. then children's church in the afternoon.
that day, we have to stay back for connect time (official mtg) as well. so that we can do debrief for christmas day event, Graduation day event, and orientation day event (all for children's church's specials) as well as briefing from the various I/Cs for mini-CNY celebration event, and V-day cum a tinge of CNY day event specials. so can u imagine how impt this mtg is? anyway.. usually, when we have such mtgs, we will usually order lunch-in. so my children's pastor, aunty susan got me busy (and distracted me) by asking me to collect the money for the lunch packets which i took order from the fellow ministry workers earlier on during children's church. while i was desperately trying to tally the amount (as i am not very good at math), a group of our children's church's youth helpers (boys) came in with the cake, singing the birthday song. my sis and i was shocked! cuz we thought no one rememebered and since our bday was so called passed aldy, so we also didnt mention anything. ya. and knowing san, she even asked simin, who was sitting beside her at that point of time, "who's birthday is it?" LOL.. it's so her to do tt.. lol.. anyway.. the whole surprise thing was so sweet! it was all planned by my children's pastor, AUNTY SUSAN!!!! thank you so much everyone! ESPECIALLY AUNTY SUSAN!!!!! i was so touched ok?! thereafter, they said a blessing prayer for us (yee left church to attend another church service. so she wasnt involved. what a pity.) after all the fun and laughter, we had to get back to the agenda of the mtg and things was a little serious as we debrief on christmas special's event. rite. this is a super duper long entry. i shall stop here for now and update more the next time round ya? i've brought work home to do. prolly after that, i'll update more about what happened the week after last. which is this week lah! hee.. ciao! :)
